Advanced keyhole surgery for ACL tears, Meniscus injuries, and Shoulder dislocations. Our specialized Arthroscopy Unit offers minimally invasive solutions for rapid return to sports.
Getting You Back in the Game
“A torn ligament or a dislocated shoulder can stop an active life in its tracks. These injuries require more than just rest; they need precise anatomical reconstruction. At Ganesha Hospital, we understand the urgency of returning to your sport or daily routine.
Dr. Jigar Gajjar leads a specialized Arthroscopy Unit, partnering with expert arthroscopic surgeons to provide gold-standard care. From the initial diagnosis to the final rehabilitation, we manage the entire journey under one roof, ensuring you receive the highest level of surgical expertise combined with personalized recovery plans.”
Minimally Invasive Joint Solutions
ACL Reconstruction:
The most common knee injury in sports. We perform advanced keyhole reconstruction using strong grafts to restore stability and allow patients to pivot and run again.
Meniscus Repair:
Preserving the knee’s “shock absorber.” Whenever possible, our unit prioritizes repairing the torn meniscus rather than removing it, preventing future arthritis.
Rotator Cuff Repair:
Solution for shoulder pain and weakness. We reattach torn tendons using suture anchors through tiny incisions, restoring your ability to lift your arm without pain.
Recurrent Shoulder Dislocation:
For shoulders that keep popping out (Bankart Lesion). We tighten the loose ligaments arthroscopically to make the joint stable and secure.
Multi-Ligament Injuries:
Complex management for severe knee trauma involving PCL, MCL, or LCL injuries, often seen in high-velocity sports or accidents.
Why Choose Our Arthroscopy Unit?
Integrated Team Approach:
Dr. Jigar Gajjar oversees your complete care, coordinating with specialized arthroscopic experts to ensure the surgery is performed with the highest technical precision.
Advanced Instrumentation:
Our hospital is equipped with high-definition arthroscopy towers and radio-frequency ablation tools, allowing for cleaner surgeries and faster healing.
Pre-hab & Re-hab Focus:
Surgery is only 50% of the result. Dr. Jigar’s team focuses heavily on Pre-hab (strengthening before surgery) and rigorous Post-op Physiotherapy to guarantee success.
Day-Care Availability:
Because arthroscopy is minimally invasive with tiny incisions, many of our patients are discharged within 24 hours, recovering in the comfort of their own homes.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is Arthroscopy (Keyhole Surgery)?
It is a procedure where we insert a tiny camera (arthroscope) into the joint through a buttonhole-sized cut. This allows us to diagnose and fix problems without making large incisions.
My MRI shows an ACL tear. Do I absolutely need surgery?
If you are active, play sports, or feel your knee “buckling” (giving way), surgery is usually recommended to prevent cartilage damage. For sedentary elderly patients, we may manage it conservatively.
How soon can I play sports after ACL surgery?
Recovery is a process. You will walk immediately, run by 3-4 months, but return to contact sports (like cricket or football) typically takes 6-9 months of rehab.
Is arthroscopy painful?
It is significantly less painful than open surgery. Because we don’t cut muscles, post-operative pain is minimal and manageable with basic medication.
Can a torn Meniscus heal on its own?
Usually, no. The meniscus has poor blood supply. If the tear is in the “White Zone,” we trim it. If it is in the “Red Zone” (good blood supply), we repair it.
What happens if I ignore a shoulder dislocation?
Every time your shoulder dislocates, it chips off bone and damages cartilage. Ignoring it leads to severe arthritis and bone loss, making future surgery much harder.
Will I have big scars?
No. Arthroscopy scars are tiny dots (portals) that fade over time. They are cosmetically very acceptable compared to traditional surgery scars.

Second Opinion on Sports Injuries?
Not every tear needs surgery. We treat the patient, not the MRI.
- Clinical Exam First: MRI reports can be scary. We test your knee stability physically to see if you actually need operation.
- Meniscus Saving: Our priority is always to repair and save the meniscus, not just remove it.
- Rehab-Led Recovery: We explore if physiotherapy alone can solve your problem before suggesting surgery.
