Hand Fracture & Disorder Specialist in Kadi | Dr. Jigar Gajjar
"A non-functioning hand is a major disability. We provide vigilant care for fractures and complex disorders to restore movement, grip, and independence."
Precision Care for Complex Hand Injuries
“The hand is an engineering marvel of tiny bones, gliding tendons, and intricate pulleys. Treating it requires more than just general orthopedic knowledge; it demands specialized insight. A stiff hand can mean the loss of livelihood and daily independence.
Dr. Jigar Gajjar brings specialized expertise to Kadi, having undergone rigorous Hand Trauma Guaidance under the legendary Dr. Hemant Patnakar Sir. Following his principles of ‘Early Mobilization’, we treat fractures and disorders with extreme vigilance. Our goal is not just to heal the bone, but to ensure every finger moves freely and functions perfectly.”
Comprehensive Hand & Wrist Management
Hand Fracture Fixation:
Expert management of Metacarpal and Phalanx (finger) fractures. We use precise K-wire or mini-screw fixation to ensure bones heal straight without blocking joint movement.
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS):
Treatment for tingling and numbness in the hand. We offer staged solutions from splinting and injections to surgical release for severe nerve compression.
Tendon Pain (De Quervain’s & Intersection Syndrome):
Targeted care for painful thumb and wrist tendons often caused by overuse. We differentiate between De Quervain’s and Intersection Syndrome to provide the exact release needed.
Dupuytren’s Contracture:
Specialized management for thickened palm skin that curls fingers inward. We perform release procedures to straighten the fingers and restore hand flatness.
Tendon & Ligament Repair:
Repair of cut tendons (Flexor/Extensor) and ligament tears. We use strong suture techniques that allow you to start moving the finger early to prevent permanent stiffness.
Why Trust Dr. Jigar with Your Hand?
Trained by the Best:
Dr. Jigar’s approach is shaped by his training under Dr. Hemant Patnakar Sir, ensuring you receive gold-standard care for complex hand trauma right here in Kadi.
Focus on Function:
We don’t just look at the X-ray; we look at the movement. Our surgical implants are placed strategically to allow your tendons to glide freely over the bone.
Stiffness Prevention:
The biggest enemy of hand injury is a “frozen hand.” We use customized, lightweight splints that protect the fracture while leaving uninjured fingers free to move immediately.
Vigilant Follow-up:
Hand recovery changes day by day. We monitor your rehab closely to adjust splints and exercises, ensuring you regain full fist closure and grip strength.
Frequently Asked Questions
My finger is swollen and painful after a hit. Is it fractured?
Finger fractures are often dismissed as “just a sprain.” If you have swelling, bruising, or cannot fully bend the finger, an X-ray is mandatory. Neglected fractures can heal crookedly, affecting your grip forever.
What is Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS)?
It is a condition where the median nerve gets compressed at the wrist, causing numbness, tingling, or pain in the thumb and fingers (especially at night). Simple release surgery can cure it instantly.
I have pain near my thumb/wrist when lifting things. What is it?
This is often De Quervain’s Tenosynovitis or Intersection Syndrome. It is an inflammation of the tendon sheath. We treat this effectively with specific bracing, injections, or a minor release procedure.
My fingers are curling into my palm and I can't straighten them.
This sounds like Dupuytren’s Contracture. It is a thickening of the tissue under the palm skin. It won’t get better on its own. We perform surgery to remove the tight bands and straighten the fingers.
How long does a hand fracture take to heal?
Small hand bones usually heal in 3-5 weeks. However, we may start physiotherapy much sooner (within days) to prevent the joints from becoming stiff.
Will I need a heavy plaster cast for a hand fracture?
Rarely. We prefer “Functional Splinting.” We use light, custom-molded braces that hold only the broken part, leaving your wrist and other fingers free to move and work.
Can stiffness be fixed after an old injury?
Yes. If your fracture has healed but the finger is stiff, we can perform “Tenolysis” (cleaning the tendons) or “Capsulotomy” (releasing the joint) to improve your range of motion.
